CUADERNO de CAMINANTE (Coghlan)
WANDERER’S PHOTO-ALBUM (Coghlan neighborhood)
Fotografías-poemas / Photos-poems

Maduró tanto la libertad
que en la garganta del mastín
al fin se alojó una cola.
¿Estamos en paz, amigo?…
¿Fue justo el precio?…
Verde es siempre el color de cualquier enigma.
—
Freedom had ripened so much
that finally a tail was lodged
in the throat of the mastiff.
Are we at peace, my friend?…
Was that a fair exchange?…
It is always green the colour of enigma.

Y todo el mundo, y toda la historia,
y tú y yo fuimos escritos con una gota de agua,
parece decirnos a veces, con paciencia,
la lluvia en la geometría de los alambres…
—
The rain on the geometry of wire fences
seems to tell us at times, patiently,
that the entire world, and the entire history,
and you and I were written with a drop of water…
…………………………………………..

Para creaciones de sombra
opulencia de posturas.
—
For shadow creations,
an opulence of stances.
………………………………………..

¿Quién dispone las imágenes
cuando la realidad sueña?
—
Who arranges images
when reality dreams?
…………………………………………..

No quedará la pared sino la planta.
No el día, sino el año. No el año,
sino el siglo. No el siglo, sino lo eterno.
Lo eterno y la planta.
Lo eterno de lo Eterno.
—
Not the wall, but the plant shall remain.
Not the day, but the year. Not the year,
but the century. Not the century, but the eternal.
The eternal and the plant.
The eternal of the Eternal.
…………………………………………..

¿Y si fuera la paloma que debe
anunciarnos el fin del Diluvio?…
—
And what if this is the dove that must
announce the end of the Deluge?…
…………………………………………..

¿Y qué es el trazo humano
cuando en la estación propicia
captura la naturaleza los muros del mundo
para inscribir sus graffiti?…
—
And what is the human trace
when, in the propitious season,
nature conquers the walls of the world
to inscribe its graffiti?…
…………………………………………..

Línea de fuga que habrá de llevarse
el misterio de tal o cual mujer
parece a veces ese tren
que escuchamos acercarse.
Ese tren, ese cualquier tren
en esa estación cualquiera…
—
That train we hear approaching
seems at times to be
a line of flight that will steal
the mystery of this or that woman.
That train, any train,
at any station anywhere…
…………………………………………..

¿De qué lado está
el otro lado de una reja?…
—
On which side is
the other side of the bars?
…………………………………………..

Pequeños santuarios en los árboles vastos,
con sus revoques atacados,
sus arañas-mendigo y, en los cálices,
tras los portales, un fermento
de savias para servirle sin falta
su ajenjo a la primavera…
—
Small sanctuaries in the vast trees,
with their undermined plasters,
their beggar-spiders, and, in the calyxes,
behind the portals, a ferment of resin
to offer its absinthe to Spring…
…………………………………………..

Fidelidades de luz
para la pausa de la niña transcurrida.
—
Fidelities of light
for the pause of the elapsed girl.
…………………………………………..

—
Anyone —so it seems— has a dog.
A cat… does not have just anyone.
God —according to nearly nameless gravestones—
has those cats that the street did not forgive.
Yes: not “Adieu”, but “A Dieu”, Lion.

De ese mismo ángulo,
en sus cielos pintados,
acostumbraba antaño el maestro
suspender los ángeles anunciadores…
—
From a similar angle,
on his painted vaults,
the master used to suspend
the heralding angels…

Con puños de música,
suave golpea la locura
el letargo de los hierros.
Golpea, como asustada
del gran silencio
que duerme en sus sueños…
—
With fists of music
madness gently strikes
the lethargy of the irons.
It strikes, as if scared
of the great silence
that sleeps in its dreams…
